Making The Most Of Your Trip Inside The Airport

I think we should make the most of traveling and it does not necessarily have to begin at the destination.  Your airport can be a bit of the experience as well.  We all unfortunately know about the headache experience with long layovers, delayed flights and, worse, cancelled flights.  However, I am talking about getting a bit of your good experience from your time spent in the airport.

Whichever situation you find yourself when in an airport for any amount of time, you can actually turn that experience into a discovery of the local eats and goods there at the airport.  More and more airports are bringing in popular local restaurants and opening shops selling local goods.  You can actually plan in advance your shopping and eating desires by downloading the app "GoHow Airport".  This app is also an invaluable resource for flight delay warnings, departure and arrival gate information, flight status reports, airport services, rental car companies at the airport, directions to/from airports, and maps of parking lots, baggage claim and airport terminals.  I use it every time I fly.

Going to New York's JFK and just found out that your two hour layover just turned into seven hours?  Don't be stressed.  Just go to GoHow and it will tell you where to find the XpresSpa for a massage in the terminal.  Craving some New England Clam Chowder while hanging out at Boston's Logan Airport?  GoHow will tell you where you can find Boston's famous Legal Seafoods restaurant at the airport.  Going to London's Heathrow and realize you forgot your Burberry raincoat?  GoHow will tell you where the nearest Burberry store is located in the airport.  Craving some Tex Mex while hanging at Austin's Bergstrom Airport?  GoHow will lead you straight to Maudie's in their terminal.

And, isn't this much better than fast food?

GoHow will even let you know information that you may not have thought that you would ever need.  Like, there is a game room on the main level A at Fargo's Hector Field.

And, the best part of this app is that it is free.  So, download it today and start your vacation before you even land at your destination!

                            WISHING YOU HAPPY CONNECTIONS!

It's Easy To Love Eze

This medieval village dates back to the 4th century and
is famous today for its beauty and charm.

Eze is sometimes known as the Eagles Nest because it is
perched over 1,400 feet on a cliff top with spectacular
views of the French Mediterranean.  It is located between
Nice and Monaco and it is a "must see" if you are in the
area.  The narrow winding streets up to the top of Eze
are full of shops, cafes and art galleries.

As you can see, it is one of the most picturesque
places in the region...

Make plans to eat at Restaurant Les Remparts'
terrace to soak in these views.

There are plenty of cafes to choose from while
strolling the streets as well..

Perched at the top of Eze is the magnificent Chateau Eza Hotel.
Check out the views from this room!  You might
not ever get me out of this hot tub!

This hotel was the summer home for the King of Sweden and is over
400 years old.  It has been refurbished into a beautiful 12-room hotel.

But, the view is not just from the rooms.  You get to
enjoy spectacular views from nearly every place
in this amazing hotel.

Dining is a treat at Chateau Eza with these views up and
down the Riviera coastline looking towards St. Tropez.

You can't wait to get to your next meal because your food is as spectacular
as the view.  Chateau Eza is one of the most fabulous hotels in the world
and is one not to be missed!
These views are easy on the eyes.  I think I have found my happy place.

OH YES, IT IS SO EASY TO LOVE EZE!

Do You Know The Way To St. Tropez?

Okay, so I know the song sings about San Jose, but when I think
about St. Tropez it makes me want to burst out in song.  It's no
wonder it's been a playground for the rich, famous and Hollywood
elite all of these years.  But, even us shallow in the pocketbooks,
unnotable and weak in the artistic way can appreciate this
beautiful place.  Maybe it's the weather, the water,...

...the art that dots along the marina...

...or the yachts sitting in and around the harbor.

Even the fish at the local fish market seem prettier, and I
am not one to think of fish positioned on ice as a pretty sight.

Next best thing to the fish market is to make your way to the
Le Marche Provencal on Tuesdays and Saturdays from
8:00a.m. until 1:00p.m.  This large outdoor market takes
place in the center of town on the Place des Licea and offers
local products such as olive oil, spices, vegetables,
Provencal fabrics, tunics, jewelry, pottery and a
sprinkling of antiques.  It is a great way to mix and
mingle with the local while collecting wonderful
items from the area.

There are numerous places to eat and some of the best are:
AunCaprice des Deux in the older part of town.  This romantic
place is a favorite among locals.
Le Cafe is the oldest brasserie in St. Tropez.
Cafe Senequier is eternally popular and offers great
people-watching.
Spoon Byblos serves Mediterranean cuisine.
Alain Ducasse provides dining and dancing until dawn
at Caves du Roy at the tony Hotel Byblos.
La Voile Rouge is said to be Bruce Willis' favorite.

Hotels vary from small, intimate ones like Hotel
Sube which overlooks the marina to tony Byblos
Hotel where the famous Caves du Roy rocks until
dawn to the old-Hollywood haunt of legends like
Greta Garbo and Rita Hayworth at Hotel Le Yaca.
Just outside of St. Tropez is the area's largest hotel
with 118 rooms, the Chateau de la Messardiere,
which sits on 25 acres with views of the French
Riviera that attracts many of today's
Hollywood elite.

Shopping is in abundance here with couture shops and
many other shops to tempt your wallet.  Some of my picks are:
Gas is full of great jewelry that won't delete your savings.
Galeries Tropeziennes is the place for eclectic housewares
and oversize bolts of fabric.
Spartela and Couleura Espadrilles sell classic French
espadrilles in more colors than you can imagine.
Pouterie Augier have beautiful Provencal urns and
other clay craftmanships.
Atelier Rondini has been making beautiful sandals
in St. Tropez since 1927.

My favorite restaurant in St. Tropez is Cave L'Escale
which sits on the marina.  With beautiful views of the
marina and yachts along with it's contemporary, fresh
decor and sandy beach floors, it's no wonder it's one
of George Clooney's favorite restaurants.

Food that just melts in your mouth served with some of
France's best glasses of wine will surely make your day.

I DO BELIEVE I FOUND MY WAY TO ST. TROPEZ!

Big Time In Little Rock

I recently was visiting a great friend of mine who lives in Little
Rock, Arkansas.  She took me to the historical Capital Hotel
which is located in on W. Markham in downtown Little Rock.

From the moment you walk in, you fall in
love with this grand old hotel.

From the over-sized lobby...

...to the beautiful stained glass ceiling...

...to the architectural beauty...

...this grand old lady has stayed as one of the
premier historical hotels in our country.

Beautiful rooms, great food and impeccible service
are standard procedure at this hotel.

The front balcony overlooking Markham
is a great place to relax, read a book,
or do some great people watching at
the street below.

Afterall, this hotel is located in the heart of
downtown Little Rock and just yards from
the Convention Center, the Riverfront Park,
the Historic Arkansas Museum, and
Robinson Center.

The Capital Bar and Grill is a great place
to unwind at the end of the day.

They invented The Debutante drink there which
consists of Kai Lychese Vodka, St. Germain
Elderflower, Lime Juice, Grapefruit Juice, Grapefruit
Bitters and Basil Leaf.  Just the perfect drink
a Debutante and her Escort needs to
quinch their thirsts!

Captial Hotel is a must on your list next
time you find yourself in Little Rock!
