Capri

There are two musts on how to truly enjoy the enchanting Isle of Capri--you must stay on Capri overnight and you must experience Capri by the sea.  Both of these give the opportunity to experience Capri in the way it was meant to be seen.  But, if you only give Capri one day then you must take time out to take a boat ride around the island.  It will be the three best hours of your life!

It is obvious from the moment you dock at Capri Marina Grande that there are lots of boats from tiny fishing boats to extremely large yachts.  And, you will notice many tour boats that are packed with tourists.  A large tour boat is no way to enjoy the stunning coastal line around the island.  It is well worth your money to get a private boat.  You can make the boat as fancy as you want, but what you get to see in a smaller, private boat will give you opportunities to get deep into the grottos, swim at your leisure in the beautiful waters of the Mediterranean, get right up to the Faraglioni Rocks, access beaches and maybe even do some double-take looks at the magnificent scenery you are witnessing.

For great information on Capri and about private boat tours, you can visit www.capri.com.

It is non-stop breathtaking views whether you are on the Mediterranean
or just capturing the views on land.  It is all good!

It's Only You and Me in Madrid

There is certainly a lot to see in Madrid....

...the architecture, the history....

...the tradition!

However, no trip is complete without staying at
Only You Hotel and Lounge in Madrid.  This hip, contemporary
boutique hotel not only has the gift of location, but it offers
impeccable service, decor and atmosphere that is hard to beat!
A refurbished palace dating from the 19th century in the heart
of Madrid, the interiors have been fashionably designed by
Lazaro Rosa Violan giving Only You its classic style
with Mediterranean touches.

And, even though you are just steps away from all
that Madrid has to offer, including great restaurants and shops, the
hotel itself is located on a quiet street on Calle Barquillo.

From the moment you walk in their doors, you
know you are going to enjoy the experience.  The
vibe is calm and cool and the staff could not
be any better!

There are unique touches everywhere from the vintage painted luggage
behind the check-in desk to the beautifully ornate blue tiled elevators.

The lounge areas are inviting and relaxing.  Even check out the
Veuve Clicquot sitting on the table.  Yes, I believe I did
partake in having a glass or two during my stay.

Warmth combined with high, airy ceilings give
this boutique hotel a spacious yet intimate atmosphere.

The cocktail bar and lounge are just the
perfect place to unwind after a busy day in Madrid.

And, the beauty of the interior continues into the
rooms which offer a quiet retreat in this busy city.

This is the perfect spot to start your day.

An enclosed atrium offers a bright and airy
atmosphere to the downstairs lounge which they more
appropriately call "The Padrino".

My only complaint about this stay is how sad it made
me feel to leave.  If I could have packed up this hotel
in my bag, I would have done it! (Fear of the baggage
charge from the airline was a factor in my decision.)
